Investigadores del Centro de microelectrónica del CSIC han desarrollado, en el marco del proyecto europeo HySYS, ya finalizado, un sensor de hidrógeno de bajo coste y más seguro que los actuales. Se trata de un ejemplo de desarrollo de componentes innovadores y de bajo coste. Los resultados del proyecto se integraron en dos prototipos de coche eléctrico.

Investigadores del Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Barcelona, del CSIC, trabajan para obtener nanointerruptores. Se trata de pequeñísimas superficies, creadas molécula a molécula, con actividad óptica, química y magnética a voluntad y de forma reversible. La investigación, premiada como el trabajo más original en la última edición de la European Materials Research Society (EMRS), en Estrasburgo, abre nuevos horizontes a la electrónica molecular.
