Neuroprotective molecules to treat Alzheimer and Parkinson
Technological offers
Researchers from the CSIC and two spanish universities have developed new propargylamine derivatives for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's. The new molecules simultanously interact with different brain receptors and are neuroprotective, therefore they could become an option to avoid "cocktail therapies" based on various drugs. Tests in vitro have shown that the new molecules are more effective than current drugs when interacting with some receptors.
