The CSIC has been in the last edition of Nanotech, which took place in Japan on 14th to 16 February, where it has introduced around 15 new technologies. With more than 44 thousand visitors, Nanotech is one of the biggest international focused on nanotechnologies.

All the members of the Spanish delegation: Isabel Gavilanes and Marisa Carrascoso, from the CSIC, members of Spanish Embassy in Japan and CEO of the company Ctechnano from San Sebastian (Mercedes Vila) and the president of the Phantoms Foundation (Antonio Correia). All the members of the Spanish delegation: Isabel Gavilanes and Marisa Carrascoso, from the CSIC, members of Spanish Embassy in Japan and CEO of the company Ctechnano from San Sebastian (Mercedes Vila) and the president of the Phantoms Foundation (Antonio Correia).Among the technologies that the CSIC has exhibited in Nanotech, there is a nano-material to heal wounds in plants, a sweet analysis system, graphene based fluids for energy storage; a catalyst for the reduction of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, materials based on nanocellulose, a device for monitoring the nanoparticles emission from nanofunctionalized materials, and a method of biocatalysis for the production of functionalized molecules.

Besides the Spanish Delegation, there were research institutions from Netherland, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and a delegation of the European Commission (EC). The EC cooperates with Japan in the industrial nanotechnology development through the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation.
