Evolving planet, archaeology and science in a game

Scientists of the CaSES research group, from the CSIC’s Institución Milá y Fontanals, have collaborated in the creation of the videogame “Evolving Planet”. The game has been developed in the frame of the Recercaixa Simulplay project, led by the scientist Xavier Rubio, at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

A Neolithic village under the lake

When summer arrives, excavation works are resumed at the Neolithic site under the lake of Banyoles. It is one of the only three of its kind in the world. First evidence of spices used almost 7.000 years ago

Garlic mustard was used as a spice 7,000 years ago, as archeologists from England, Spain, Denmark and Germany found out. The scientists have analyzed microfossils of food deposits from pots found at three archeological sites: Akonge and Steno (Denmark) and Neustadt (Germany).

Recovering Hernandez de Toledo's works

Historians at the Institución Milà y Fontanals are working to recover Francisco Hernandez’s works. Hernandez, who was a naturalist and physician in the Court of Philip II of Spain, is the author of the biggest compilation known of America’s fauna and flora.

Música para el Corpus (LAU 007), un nuevo disco de la colección Música Poética del CSIC, fruto del trabajo del departamento de musicología de la Institución Milá y Fontanals (CSIC) y el grupo La Grande Chapelle, dirigido por Albert Recasens, y el grupo vocal Schola Antiqua, dirigido por Juan Carlos Asensio.
