Preservation and research of Spanish traditional music on both sides of the Atlantic

A young scientist will compare the Spanish folk music collections of the CSIC in Barcelona and of the Library of Congress in Washington (EUA). The researcher, Ascension Mazuela-Anguita, has been granted the Alan Lomax Postdoctoral  Fellowship to compare both collections.

Evolving planet, archaeology and science in a game

Scientists of the CaSES research group, from the CSIC’s Institución Milá y Fontanals, have collaborated in the creation of the videogame “Evolving Planet”. The game has been developed in the frame of the Recercaixa Simulplay project, led by the scientist Xavier Rubio, at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

A Neolithic village under the lake

When summer arrives, excavation works are resumed at the Neolithic site under the lake of Banyoles. It is one of the only three of its kind in the world.  Discovered 25 years ago, this site is a window open to life in a Neolithic village. Research there is complemented with a program of activities that enable the discovery of this Millenary past.

Eighth album from the collection 'Música Poética' (Poetic Music)

This joint project of the CSIC and Lauda Música is aiming at recovering musical heritage and rescue from oblivion many works found in libraries and archives throughout Spain.  The latest record is dedicated to Alonso Lobo, one of the masters of Renaissance.
