Scientists of the CaSES research group, from the CSIC’s Institución Milá y Fontanals, have collaborated in the creation of the videogame “Evolving Planet”. The game has been developed in the frame of the Recercaixa Simulplay project, led by the scientist Xavier Rubio, at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
A Neolithic village under the lake

When summer arrives, excavation works are resumed at the Neolithic site under the lake of Banyoles. It is one of the only three of its kind in the world. Discovered 25 years ago, this site is a window open to life in a Neolithic village. Research there is complemented with a program of activities that enable the discovery of this Millenary past.

Garlic mustard was used as a spice 7,000 years ago, as archeologists from England, Spain, Denmark and Germany found out. The scientists have analyzed microfossils of food deposits from pots found at three archeological sites: Akonge and Steno (Denmark) and Neustadt (Germany).
