Spanish scientists at CSIC have developed a new system to control common foodborne pathogens, such as salmonella, E.coli or listeria, in ready to eat fresh vegetables products.

The method, that can be implemented within the production line by food processing equipment manufacturers, enables quick detection of pathogens and almost totally reduces the contamination risk.
